Jim West Puppet Extravaganza!

Napa, CA – Jim West and company present Aesop's Fables II -- an all-new, large-scale puppet extravaganza with The Goose That Laid The Golden Egg, The Boy Who Cried Wolf and many more of Aesop's legendary fables. The production features classical music, morals, silliness and puppet-making ideas! Catch the show on Saturday, February 23 at 2pm at the Napa Valley Opera House. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for kids. Perfect for young audiences Pre-K to third grade.

Jim West graduated from Otterbein College with a degree in drama, and he continued his studies in New York at the Herbert Berghof Studio and at Parsons School of Design. He developed and performed the shadow puppets for the Metropolitan Opera's production of Manon and has appeared on "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood," introducing Fred Rogers and countless children to the art of creating hand shadows.

Jim West is performing Aesop's Fables II with John Rochette, a fellow puppeteer with a rich background in drama and music. West co-created the show Marshall Izen, who has a distinguished performance career, including two Emmys, and is an award-winning puppeteer.

NAPA VALLEY OPERA HOUSE: The Napa Valley Opera House is a "Jewel of Napa Valley" located in the heart of downtown Napa and a national historic landmark originally constructed in 1879. NVOH restored their intimate second-floor, 500-seat Margrit Biever Mondavi Theatre five years ago after 30 years of planning. During the NVOH 2008 Winter Season, patrons experience an eclectic array of performing arts including theatre, dance, comedy, jazz, world music, and family programming in a world class setting.

More than 30 years in the making, The Napa Valley Opera House, a national historic landmark, restored the Margrit Biever Mondavi Theatre in June 2003, a second-floor theatre that was originally constructed in 1879. The NVOH 2007 Fall Season marks the fifth year of programming in the intimate 500-seat theatre, the “Jewel of Napa Valley” located in the heart of downtown Napa. Patrons experience an eclectic array of performing arts including theatre, dance, comedy, jazz, blues, world music, and family programming in a world class setting.
