Napa Valley Film Festival

The Napa Valley Opera House will present some of the most exciting, diverse films and special events at this year's Napa Valley Film Festival.  Here's a taste of what you'll see here:


  • World Premiere of Somm, the hotly anticipated documentary about the Master Sommelier exam (8:30pm Wed. Nov. 7; $10 rush tickets will only be sold after all NVFF Passholders have been admitted); 
  • David O Russell's comedy Silver Linings Playbook, (Thur. Nov. 8, 5:30pm), starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro, it's already generating Oscar buzz;
  • Documentary: The America's Cup: 150 Years in the Making, (Fri. Nov. 9, 1pm), followed by an alll-star panel discussion on sailing featuring filmmaker PJ Panzica, Paul Cayard, CEO of Artemis Racing; Ian "Fresh" Burns (Oracle Racing Team) and moderated by SF Chronicle's Paul Oliva; film & panel sponsored by San Francisco Travel;
  • Love, Marilyn,(Fri. Nov. 9, 5:30pm), an affecting and personal portrait of Marilyn Monroe through her letters to her confidants, featuring actors Elizabeth Banks, Adrien Brody, Viola Davis, Paul Giamatti & Glenn Close
  • Student Works Showcase (Sun. Nov. 11, 1pm): films created by local students (grades 8-12) selected by a panel of professional & student judges; part of NVFF's Educational Outreach program
  • Quartet (Sun. Nov. 11, 5:30pm), Dustin Hoffman's directorial debut starring Maggie Smith, Tom Courtenay & Billy Connolly
  • Awards Ceremony (Sun. Nov. 11, 8:30pm) hosted by NBC Bay Area's Raj Mathai and NVFF Jury President Leonard Maltin; presenting the Festival's top filmmakers with jury prizes (Best US Narrative Feature, $10,000 prize sponsored by Meadowood Napa Valley) and audience awards (Mount Veeder Peak Performance Award for Best Actor, $1,000), plus Foodspotting and more!
